News: 6th Annual 2008 Washington International Piano Artists Competition

HanZone Productions' Founder/Executive Director Hon-Cheong Chan participated in the 6th Annual Washington International Piano Artists Competition held at various venue in Washington D.C. from July 17 - July 20. The final round concluded at the Embassy of France in Washington, D.C.. Details can be found on WIPAC.ORG.
For the preliminary round, Mr. Chan played 2 keyboard sonatas by Scarlatti, an Edute by A. Scriabin, and Jeux d'eau(Play of Water) by M. Ravel. There were 27 participants from all over the world in all walks of life including lawyers, physicians, IT professionals, music graduate/doctorate students, tennis coach etc. This is Mr. Chan's first major competition for outstanding non-professional pianists.
