Miriam's Story, Miriam's Song
is an original program written by founding Executive Director, Carol
Marsh. The stories of two former residents and of Miriam's House are
woven together with art and music in a unique format that celebrates 13
years of Miriam's House, and, more importantly, the courage and spirit
of the women who live and have lived here.
Several spirituals including "Don't You Weep When I'm Gone", "Don't be Weary Traveler" by H.T. Burleigh, "I want to walk with Jesus" by David Nino, "Sometimes I feel like a motherless Child"(Traditional Spirituals), "There's a Blam in Gilead" by William Dawson, Broadway Musical "You'll Never Walk Alone" from "Carousel" by Hammerstein II & Rodgers
Storytelling that weaves together the themes of Miriam’s House work
The experience of residents living with HIV/AIDS
The vocal and musical talents of staff and volunteers/musicians from Hanzone Productions(Hon-Cheong Chan, pianist and Stephen Kiosk, tenor)

Recital: 5/26 Hanzone Productions Partnered with Miriam's House

HanZone Productions' artistic director and executive director/Duo Pianists Sevan Kromelian & Hon-Cheong Chan performed at St Thomas Parish, Washington DC on 5/26/2007 in a concert benefiting Miriam's House. They were joined by tenor Stephen Kiosk, program director of Miriam's House and violinist Rose Kreider.
The benefit recital had successfully raised thousands of dollars for the charity!
